Over at the Nesters place she's always doing something wonderful and creative to promote all the hard work that women out there do! The latest and greatest is she's letting us that make things advertise on her blog to get the word out there to people. I heart Nester. I debated on whether or not I should link up for this one, but figured there must be some people out there that might want to check out my stuff... right? Who knows... maybe I'll even sell a few!!!

These are handmade barrette (bow bows as we call them) holders. They perfectly keep your little ones bow bows organized in one place! I can paint them to match your little ones bedroom theme, or in their favorite colors.

I also make bow bows. Each one is made with an alligator clip and has a no slip backing to make sure that your little ones bow bow stays in place! I do all sorts of different styles and can do custom orders for that special occasion or the upcoming holidays!

Funky Cool Halloween Wreath

I decided I wanted one of those really cute funky feathered wreaths for Halloween last year, but really didn't want to pay the $30 for one. So I decided this year I was going to make one myself. While we were shopping last weekend I found these black and white boa's at the dollar store for $1.59 (I never understood why it's called the dollar store when hardly anything inside is actually JUST a dollar!) and decided I would grab a couple to make the wreath. Went to Michaels and got the styrofoam wreath and found the cute little Trick or Treat ornament on clearance while I was there. I had a bag of little plastic spiders from Halloween a few years ago... So I sat down and less then 10 minutes later...VIOLA! My very own Funky Cool Wreath for Halloween! Not too bad if I do say so myself... and total cost was less then $10!!

Over at the Inspired Room she was talking about her 20 favorite things in the fall. It got me thinking about it and Fall is definatly my favorite time of the year. So I thought I would list my 20 little things...

Ragamuffin Garland

In my spare time (insert laughs here) this is what I have been working on! I got the idea here and fell in love with the idea for Little Miss Pinks room. Little did I realize how much work it was going to be! I thought that if I did a smaller version (by smaller I mean smaller pieces of material) that it wouldn't take me so long. Boy was I wrong! I chose to make it smaller so that I could use it for actual garland on her Christmas tree this year. But by doing so I need to make it at least 5 feet to wrap around the tree. Perhaps it will be done in time for Christmas 2009! :O)

No time to be creative lately

For a while there things seemed to be going really well! I was doing something new almost every weekend and excited to share it all with you... then summer came and all the sudden I had no extra time on my hands! I have all these ideas I am excited to share with everyone, I just have to find the time to sit down and do it! But I've not given up! So don't give up on me!!!

These were so good and so easy to make!

One package of cresent rolls
Nutella
Slivered Almonds
Preheat oven to 375
Separate cresent rolls and spread 1 rounded tablespoon of Nutella onto triangles, sprinkle with almonds.
Roll up each triangle on a baking sheet.
Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
You can warm up some Nutella and drizzle over the top and sprinkle with almonds to finish it off!

I decided that I'm going to get serious about making the bow bows! I went on ebay and found all these adorable little felt flowers and this assorted mix for less then $12! SO... If you know anyone looking for bow bows let them know about me!

I decided I was going to try to make Little Miss Pink some bow bows and they turned out really cute! And they were super easy to make! I really wish I could quit my day job and start a little shop. Anyone looking for a cute bow bow to match any outfit...let me know! :O)

My first attempt at Mistreatments!

For some of you that have taken a look at the Nesters website you've seen her mistreatments. I was a little scared at first to try it but I loaded up Miss Pink and went to the fabric store and decided we'd try it. Well I must admit that I LOVE the way they turned out!! Now if I can just get the husband to put the trim up around the new window it'll look really nice!!

Garage Sale And Flea Market time!!!

I am so excited for Spring/Summer! It's not only time for beautiful weather, cute clothes, and pedicures but it's also that time of year when all the garage sales and flea markets start up again! YIPPY!!!
I am really hoping to find some great deals this year! Here are a few places that I've stumbled upon while reading the papers and fliers so far.

This place seems to have it all! I cannot wait to go on Sunday!

This garage sale has it's own website! There has to be something there worth looking at!!

Meatloaf Cupcakes??

1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Potato Frosting
3 cups mashed potatoes
Food coloring

1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Line 12 muffin tin cups with foil bake cups. 2. In a large bowl, mix together all of the meat loaf ingredients until well combined. Divide the mixture evenly among the lined cups (the liners should be about three quarters full). 3. Place the filled muffin tins on cookie sheets and bake the cupcakes for about 15 minutes or until cooked through. 4. Divide the mashed potatoes among three small bowls and stir a few drops of food coloring into each batch to create blue, yellow, and pink pastel frostings. Spread a generous dollop on each cupcake. Makes 12 cupcakes.

Not just a regular Oreo!

So you know those white chocolate covered Oreo's you can only buy at Christmas time...well we had a huge craving for them so I decided to try to make them myself. They tasted exactly the same!!! I had a little fun decorating them with sprinkles, and some with drizzled chocolate too! Delish!

I decided that with all the new bow bow's that I've been buying (and now starting to make :O) I needed a place to hang them up. Little Miss Pink has quite the collection now and so I made this for her this weekend.
And here it is with her collection displayed.

I'm considering selling them so if anyone is interested in one let me know!

Speaking of baby food...

When my daughter started eating baby food I stocked up on all the fruits and veggies when they went on sale. Turns out I had way more then I ever needed! So what's a mom to do with all that baby food?!?! Make breakfast!

We took some of her favorites such as pears, bananas, applesauce, even sweet potatoes and we mix them right into the pancake, waffle, or muffin mixes. They are moist and delicious and she's getting her fruits an veggies without even realizing it! How great is that!

No not that kind of recycling! I'm talking about the fun and creative kind of recycling that leaves you with really cool new things that leave your friends wondering where you got them! Check out some of these ideas I found for baby food jars, and soup cans!

Spice Jars

Baby Food Jars are great for a lot of things... How about Spice Jars!

Put mixed spices that you can do yourself.
For example: Italian mix (oregano, basil and garlic)
or (cinnamon, cloves, and allspice)
or an everyday mix (paprika, thyme,and garlic)
Use your imagination and go for it.
It's simple and very useful when you are in a hurry!

And as a bonus tip....

Tired of NEVER being able to find anything in your spice cabinet because they're all stacked on top of each other! Not to mention that there never seems to be enough room for it all. Well here's a handy little tip for you. If your cabinet is large enough stack a couple of wire cooling rack inside to place your spices underneath and on top of. The small baby food jars should fit perfectly! Leaving room on the side for the tall spices containers and large items like salt.

Tin Can Lantern

Tin Can Lanterns

Materials You'll need:

1 Or more tin cans, any size
Tape
Hammer
Nails
Votive candles in glass holders

You can dowload templates here, or design something on your own.
Wrap the tin can in a design template and tape it in place. If the can is large, you may want to print two copies of the design so you can overlap it.
Using the hammer and a nail, punch holes in the can along the black dots of the template.
Once all of the holes are punched, remove the template.
Light your candle, place it inside your tin-can lantern, and enjoy.

Votive Candles

Votive Candle Holder

Materials You'll Need:
1 or more sheets of vellum paper
1 or more glass baby-food jars I recommend the 4 oz. jars
Tape
X-ACTO knife or scissors
Metal-edge ruler (optional)
Cutting mat (optional)
Tea lights or votive candles

Place the vellum on the cutting mat. Use the metal-edge ruler and the X-ACTO knife to trim to size. Or, cut with scissors.

Prepare your baby food jars by soaking off the labels and cleaning. Set aside to dry.
Wrap the art around the dry jar and tape into place.
Light your candle, place it inside your baby food votive, and enjoy.

Decorative Organizer

Decorative Organizers

Materials You'll need:

1 or more sheets of heavyweight decorative paper
1 or more tin cans I recommend 15 oz. cans
Tape
X-ACTO knife or scissors
Metal-edge ruler (optional)
Cutting mat (optional)

Place the artwork on the cutting mat. Use the metal-edge ruler and X-ACTO knife to cut to size. Prepare your tin can by soaking or peeling off the existing label and cleaning. Set aside to dry.
Wrap the art around the tin can and tape into place.
Enjoy your new artistic organizers.

As a full time working mom I'm always trying to find easy things that I can make ahead of time for lunch. My newest craze... Panini's! I LOVE these things! I never realized how easy they were to make and since discovering that you don't have to buy one of those fancy schmancy Panini makers I have been a Panini making fool! Wanna join the Panini craze? Here's how:

Preheat your George Foreman Grill while you're preparing the Panini

yep! that's right...your George Foreman Grill!
Butter 2 slices of Italian bread

Meat of choice (right now I'm on a turkey kick)
Cheese of choice ( I'm a sucker for provolone!)

Add any additional toppings you'd like. Spinach, Sun-dried tomatoes, Onions, Peppers, etc.

Place sandwich on grill and close lid.

Grill for approximately 5 minutes and Voila!

Your very own little slice of melted heaven!
